A national organisation for lay people and clergy to foster a deeper understanding of the faith in the context of the contemporary world, through talks, discussions and workshops at a local level and through national conferences. Named in memory of Blessed Cardinal Newman, who supported the need for an educated laity, the association is the British member of the International Catholic Movement for Intellectual and Cultural Affairs “Pax Romana, and is also a member of Andante,, composed of professional women from many European Catholic Organisations. Newman members have representatives in CAFOD, NCLA, NBCW and CARJ at a national level. It is organised through local circles around the country.

Meetings are held at St Francis of Assisi, Llay, on the last Friday of most months, except July and August, starting with evening prayer at 7.30 followed by the talk and refreshments. Free to members - non members £3.00.
