Volunteers Required
Can YOU Help?

St. Winefride’s Well is a religious, historic, heritage and cultural treasure in the stewardship of the Diocese.  Staff and Volunteers make it possible for visitors to access the Well and to safeguard it for future generations.  St. Winefride’s Well is open all year around and welcomes 40,000 visitors annually.
Volunteers are able to decide the level of commitment they can give and the roles to which they feel best suited.   We are keen to invest in our volunteers offering training opportunities and the chance to learn and develop new skills. Volunteers must be over 16 Years of age. Payment for agreed out-of-pocket expenses is available e.g. travel between home and worksite.
For roles which involve working with visitors (adults and children), we are keen to attract volunteers who are able to speak Welsh and other languages.

A wide range of volunteering opportunities are currently available:
Visitor Guides:  Welcoming visitors and conducting tours of the site
Stewards: Directing visitors day to day and at specific events
Children: guides for school parties & developing educational programmes
Museum: explaining about the artefacts, or looking after the collection
Visitor Centre: admit visitors to the Well, work in the repository
Grounds Maintenance: help with outdoor and keeping the site clean and tidy
Buildings Maintenance: general maintenance and project work
Business Development: events, fundraising, administration, bookkeeping and IT
Advisory:  history, heritage, culture, tourism as well professional & business skills
