What is Prayer ?

Prayer is our direct line with God  the Father and is  a process that allows us to talk and to listen to Him!
Saint Paul tells us that we should "pray without ceasing" (1 Thessalonians 5:17) yet in the modern world, it seems as if prayer has taken a back seat to both our work and entertainment. Many of us have fallen out of the habit of daily prayer which has characterized our lives as Christians throughout the centuries.
An active prayer life is essential to our growth in grace and our advancement on  our Christian journey.
Prayer is one of the most basic activities of all Christians, and yet it is also one of the least understood. Many people think that they do not know how to pray or  indeed what to pray for. We often confuse prayer and worship, and think that we must use the language that we associate with the Mass and other liturgical services. In its most basic form, prayer is engaging in conversation with God and His saints.  Once we understand that prayer is not always worship, nor is it simply asking God for something, prayer can become as natural as talking to our family and friends.
