CAFOD stands for the Catholic Agency For Overseas Development. We are an international development charity and the official aid agency of the Catholic Church in England and Wales.
We stand beside people living in poverty – whatever their religion or culture. Through local Church partners, we help people directly in their own communities, and campaign for global justice, so that everyone can reach their full potential.
How to get involved with CAFOD
None of our work is possible without you. Whether you
donate, campaign, download prayers or volunteer we are grateful for your support.

Your local CAFOD representative in North Wales is Colette Byrne.  Colette joined CAFOD in 2015 and has been enjoying her varied role ever since.  Colette works part time in Wrexham Diocese and part time in Liverpool Archdiocese.
She says, “I’m loving working for CAFOD, I love the mix of people that I work with, as well as their shared passion for global justice.  I live in Liverpool and I love the city, but I really get the best of both worlds when I get to come to Wrexham Diocese too, the beautiful countryside and gorgeous sea views really remind me that I am close to God working here. I am truly blessed!’
‘I’ve been slowly making my way around the Diocese to get to know parish priests and parishioners.  If you’re keen to support CAFOD in your area, either in your parish or as an individual, then I’d really love to hear from you!  Please do get in touch with me!”
Colette Byrne
Community Participation Coordinator, CAFOD North Wales
