Here are some of the resources that are available to support the Celebrating Family initiatives.
Everybody's Welcome? Helping your church to become more friendly for all kinds of families - a simple package to help parishes explore new ways to be more family friendly.

The Ministry of Welcome. a training resource for parishes which aims to enable all parish groups to understand why welcoming visitors and strangers matters and that ongoing welcome of all is important.

What is Life Like? A series of seven leaflets to try to help parishes understand and meet the needs of families in specific situations.

There is more detailed information regarding the above resources at www.everybodyswelcome.org.uk where they are all available to download.

Home Is a Holy Place resource pack including DVD, group leaders guide, group worksheets and prayer cards.

A copy of Home is a Holy Place was sent to each parish in Wrexham diocese after the launch, but the whole resource including the DVD is available online at www.homeisaholyplace.org.uk  where prayer cards can also be ordered.  Also on the website are a selection of other supporting materials which can be ordered from the project office.

Passing on the Faith

Catholic Tradition Alive at Home prayer 'recipe' cards- a set of thirteen cards in a simple how to style that were inspired by a visit to a supermarket that offered free simple recipe cards.  They include some of the traditional catholic prayers including making the sign of the cross, blessing a home and praying at mealtimes.  These are available to order from the Diocese of Plymouth via order form at www.passingonthefaith.org.uk

The Catholic Grandparents Association -  is a group of people united by a belief in the importance of the vocation of grandparents. In order to support and encourage grandparents, they are establishing branches of the Catholic Grandparents Association in parishes across the country where grandparents can meet to pray, exchange advice and information and support each other both socially and spiritually. Founded in Ireland, the Association is growing in England and organises a pilgrimage to Walsingham every year. For more information visit www.catholicgrandparentsassociation.com
Family Faith Sacramental Preparation Programmes - Four new programmes developed by Sr Doreen Grant SND.  When working as an educator she found  that the parent-child interaction throughout early childhood is the most powerful factor in how we will learn during our whole lives.  This led to her understanding that teaching of the Sacraments must be done through parent-child interaction in ways that help the parent hand on the Faith.   She also found that - in a child-learning situation - PERSONAL ACTION is necessary for the young learner to take 'ownership' of the idea. Commitment is not brought about by listening - or watching someone else's action.  The learner needs to personally take part in small  meaningful actions  which illuminate the message being delivered. The Family Faith programmes involve the whole family in the preparation of children for reception of the Sacraments.
They are available to download free of charge from the Sisters of Notre Dame website. Visit http://www.snduk.org/family-faith-programmes/
