“Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful” (Lk 6:36)

Picture
December the 8th 2015, marks the opening of the Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy by Pope Francis in Rome, which has at its centre the mercy of God. It will be a Holy Year of Mercy in which the Church wishes to live in the light of the Lord and  “Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful” (cf. Lk 6:36).

The Holy Door of St Peter’s will be opened on the 8th December 2015 and the Holy Doors of the other papal basilicas will be opened in subsequent days. As a sign of communion of the whole Church, the Pope has requested that every diocese in the world open a similar “Door of Mercy” for the local celebrations of the Jubilee.

The Wrexham Diocesan Door of Mercy will therefore be opened at the beginning of the inaugural Mass held at The Cathedral Church of Our Lady of Sorrows  Wrexham, by Bishop Peter on Tuesday 8th December 2015 at 7pm.  The Mass will be con-celebrated by priests from around the Diocese and an invitation is extended to parishioners throughout the diocese.
