Need help in selecting music for the Mass? Would you like to refresh the music we offer?
What about Hymns and Psalms?
As a follow-up to our hugely successful Music Congress of 2014, and in response to workshops in 2015, we are holding, at the start of this Year of Mercy, three music workshops in the Diocese. We will look at where we are currently with our musical offerings; where we would like to get to and ultimately how to achieve our goals. The workshops are open to all with a love for music in the liturgy.
The sessions will not only address the basic principles of planning music in the liturgy, but will inform on the selection of hymns, songs and antiphons, and provide a practical workshop on a method of ensuring a way in which the Psalm can be sung successfully at every liturgy.
There will also be the opportunity to learn and take away a new, approachable and flexible setting of the Mass composed especially for the parishes of our Diocese. This setting will be offered for its first liturgical use at the Mass of the Chrism in Wrexham Cathedral on 23rd March.
The workshops will take place as follows:
1. Bangor Saturday 5th March 10.30 – 14.30 Our Lady and St James
2. Rhyl Saturday 12th March 10.30 – 14.30 Our Lady of the Assumption
3. Wrexham Saturday 16th April 10.30 – 14.30 Cathedral Hall
Please do join us for what promise to be informative and enjoyable workshops.
