From 1st July 2008 the Catholic Office for the Protection of Children and Vulnerable Adults was succeeded by the Catholic Safeguarding Advisory Service, and references to 'Child and Vulnerable Adult Protection' were replaced by the term 'Safeguarding'.
The Bishop has appointed a Commission to oversee the implementation of national Safeguarding policies and procedures in the Diocese.
